MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) is one of the basic components used to make polyurethane foam. Polyurethane foam is made by reacting an isocyanate (MDI) with a polyol. Huntsman sells many differentiated grades of MDI in the Americas under the RUBINATE® name, and in Europe and Asia under the SUPRASEC® name.

The polyetheramine family has expanded to now include SURFONAMINE® materials specifically designed to meet market needs in pigment modification, as dispersant building blocks, and in polymer modification applications including nylon, polyolefins, and polysilicones.

TECNOTHANE® is an advanced portfolio of polyurethane-based, hot-cast, engineering elastomers, which includes a full range of polyols and chain extenders. Over the years we’ve blended these raw materials together in different combinations - creating a suite of tried and tested elastomer formulations that we market as our MPC, MDE, MPT, SWP, WRP, V-TER product families.

The TEROL® family of polyester polyols are a critical component in the production of MDI-based polyurethane insulation systems – the most effective insulants available in the market, as measured by R-value. Insulation products based on TEROL® polyols include polyisocyanurate (PIR), boardstock systems (PUR), spray polyurethane foam (SPF) and pour-in-place applications, including entry doors, garage doors, coolers, refrigerators and commercial freezers.
A proprietary process enables the use of waste PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles, that may have been destined for landfills or found their way into oceans, in the production of TEROL® polyols. Both pre-consumer and post-consumer sources of PET are used.

The VITROX® family of high-performance polyurethane resin systems can be used in demanding structural and semi-structural composite applications in Transportation including interior load floor components, suspension components, body structure components, powertrain/wheel components, and battery enclosures. VITROX® system benefits include adjustment of the pot-life to match individual processing conditions, coupled with the ability to offer faster curing cycles along with excellent mechanical properties. VITROX® polyurethane systems offer a robust processing window for a number of manufacturing methods such as resin transfer molding, spray honeycomb and filament winding. VITROX® resin provides a longer handling window, faster curing time and superior high-temperature resistance properties compared to existing technologies.
