Features & Benefits

Product Features
Key Properties

Polyamidoamine adducts provide the following advantages in comparison with poly- amidoamine hardeners because of their anticipated pre-reaction, due to the standardized addition of the hardener along with a part of the required epoxy resin:

  • Improved resistance to atmospheric humidity and cold
  • Reduced surface tackiness
  • Improved flow properties
  • A reduction in the time required, as no pre-reaction is necessary.

Aradur® 423XW60 is suitable for use at up to 80 % relative atmospheric humidity. Reactivity increases throughout the Aradur® 422 XW 70, 423 XW 60 and 424 XW 50 hardeners.

Applications & Uses

Markets
Applications
Application Information

Along with liquid or (preferably) solid epoxy resins or their solutions such as Araldite® GZ 7071 X 75, Aradur® 423 XW 60 is suitable for the formulation of cold-curing, solvent- containing coatings for application on steel and mineral substrates. Main applications in ship-building, anti-corrosion protection and the construction industry.

Properties

Mix Ratio
  • The mix ratio of Araldite® GZ 7071 X 75 to Aradur 423 XW 60 should be selected as 100:82 parts by weight.
  • Deviations from this of up to 15 % are acceptable. In such cases a higher proportion of hardener provides increased flexibility and adhesion, while improved chemical resistance is achieved with a reduced proportion of hardener.
