Pretreatment
The strength and durability of the bond depends on the correct pretreatment of the bonding surface. The surface (including the anchor holes) should be dry and clean, free of any laitance, loose materials, dust, oil and grease. The surface of the carbon fiber fabric should be free of oil and grease.
Application of adhesive
Stir Araldite® AV180-2 CF and curing agent HY180-2 CF separately to eliminate any sediment Pour Araldite® AV180-2 CF and curing agent HY180-2 CF into a mixing container according to the following mixing ratio. A simple stirrer (such as a spatula or other tool) can be used to stir slowly until the products inside and at the bottom of the mixing container are completely mixed and the color is uniform. Apply the colloid evenly to the surface to be bonded within the construction time
Mixing ratio Weight Ratio Araldite® AV180-2 CF Curing 10 Agent HY180-2 CF 3 Minimum curing time at 25°C Reaches 80% of fully cured lap shear strength (steel/steel)
About 24 hours Full curing time at 25°C Reached ultimate lap shear strength (steel/steel)
About 7 days Cleaning up
Uncured adhesive can be scraped off or cleaned with a solvent (such as acetone). All tools should be used before the adhesive residue has cured.Wash with hot water and soapy water. Cured residue is difficult to remove. If cleaning with solvents such as acetone, proper. Precautions: Also, avoid contact with skin and eyes.

- Huntsman Advanced Materials products are generally harmless when used under the specified safety precautions. Uncured material should not come into contact with food or food utensils. Also, precautions should be taken to prevent uncured material from coming into contact with the skin, as some people with skin allergies may be affected. Generally, impermeable rubber or plastic gloves should be worn; also wear protective glasses. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and warm water at the end of each work. Avoid the use of solvents. Use paper towels, not towels, to clean the skin. Provide adequate ventilation in the workplace.
