Solvent-free coatings with very acceptable viscosity and resistance to several fuels / solvents.

  • Details:
    • Potlife : short to very short, except with ARADUR® 42
    • Drying : outstanding, short to very short
    • Film aspect : depends on hardener
    • Hardness : after one day :
    • at 20 °C good
    • at 5 °C only good with ARADUR® 837, 3203 and 22
    • Flexibility : good ( with ARADUR® 42 medium)
  • Chemical resistance:
    • Acids: only medium, due to modification
    • Xylene: generally good
    • Ethanol: with ARADUR® 943, 2958 and 22 good
    • with ARADUR® XB 2973 good to fuel mix DIN 51604 A, MIBK and CHEVRON aviation hydraulic fluid, not good to ethyl acetate (only tested with ARADUR® 2973)

Storage Information

ARALDITE EPN 1183 should be stored in a dry place, preferably in the sealed original container, at temperatures between 2 and 40 °C (temperatures will never be allowed to drop under 0
°C). The product should not be stored exposed to direct sunlight. ARALDITE EPN 1183 may crystallize after long storage. If this occurs, it can be restored to its original condition by heating it to 50 to 60 °C and stirring it thoroughly.
