Technical Details & Test Data
- Processing Information
- GABEPRO™ GPM-800 curing agent is a unique polymercaptan epoxy hardener which, when used with a catalyst, provides very rapid cures of epoxy systems, even in thin films and at low temperatures.
- The catalyst is an integral part of a GABEPRO™ GPM-800 system. The action of a properly selected catalyst can provide gel times as short as 4 minutes. GABEPRO™ GPA-30 tertiary amine is a most effective catalyst for GABEPRO™ GPM-800 systems.
- A two-part epoxy system can be obtained by blending the tertiary amine into the GABEPRO™ GPM-800 to produce the epoxy hardener system. In the blending process, care should be taken to avoid introducing iron contamination.
- The catalyst, fillers, other additives and the equipment used should be selected carefully with avoidance of iron contamination in mind. Iron contamination in connection with oxygen in the atmosphere may cause skinning in some systems.

Storage & Handling
- Storage Information
- GABEPRO™ GPM-800 curing agent should be stored in a dry place, in its sealed original container, at temperatures between 10°C - 30°C (50°F - 86°F).
- Under these storage conditions the shelf life is 24 months from date of manufacture.
- The product should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
- Mercaptans are known to yellow above 75°F. At 90°F the yellowing is accelerated and at 100°F the yellowing is instant.
- While yellowing is not always observed by the naked eye, a definite increase is detected by the colorimeter.
