HYPRO® 2000X168 VTB

HYPRO® 2000X168 VTB is a 100% solids liquid rubber designed to enhance toughness, flexibility, adhesion, and impact resistance in thermoset resin systems, including epoxies, vinyl esters, unsaturated polyesters, acrylics, and urethanes. This methacrylate-terminated butadiene homopolymer, derived from the reaction of CTB 2000X162 with glycidyl methacrylate, is used primarily by blending with acrylic, PVC, vinyl ester, or unsaturated polyester resins to improve product performance. Containing no acrylonitrile, it is commonly used at 5% to 20% of total solids and forms rubber domains when cured, providing key performance benefits.

  • HYPRO® 2000X168 VTB polymer is designed for free-radical-cured systems. It reacts into the cured polymer matrix via the vinyl functionality of the methacrylate moieties.
  • The polybutadiene backbone provides toughness, flexibility, low-temperature properties, and impact resistance to the cured formulation.
  • Product also contributes excellent resistance to moisture, brine, acids, and bases.
