NYCHEM® 1578 X 1

NYCHEM® 1578 X 1 is a carboxylated, heat-reactive medium-nitrile acrylonitrile-butadiene latex with excellent chemical and mechanical stability. It offers superior formulating capabilities, wetting properties, and reduced pH sensitivity, ideal for binder and coating applications. Used in adhesives, abrasive paper, and textile coatings, it provides strong chemical, grease, oil, tear, and abrasion resistance, along with flexibility and impact resistance. Its carboxylated functionality allows crosslinking, while the heat-reactive functionality enables self-crosslinking above 150°C, further enhancing performance. Vulcanization with a sulfur donor boosts toughness and resistance.

Storage & Handling

Storage Condition
  • NYCHEM® 1578X1 are aqueous dispersions of colloidal polymer particles. They are subject to freezing and to gelation. Frozen latex cannot be salvaged. Gelation may occur at temperatures below 60 °F. Gelled latex should be placed in a heated room and warmed gradually. Gentle stirring after heating helps break the gel.
  • NYCHEM® 1578X1 should be stored in a dry place, in the sealed original containers, at temperatures between +16°C and +32°C (+61°F and +90°F). Under these storage conditions, the product has a shelf life of 6 months (from date of manufacture). The products should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
