NYCHEM® 1800 X 73

NYCHEM® 1800 X 73 offers a wide range of nitrile, carboxylated nitrile, and styrene-butadiene products and blends. These polymers deliver superior oil, grease, solvent, tear, and abrasion resistance. Tailored for various applications, they are designed based on monomer and surfactant ratios, with acrylonitrile content affecting resistance and glass transition temperature. To improve toughness and resistance, vulcanization or cross-linking agents like melamines, epoxies, phenolics, or metal complexes can be used. Products with fatty acid or rosin acid-based surfactants provide excellent water resistance, while synthetic surfactants offer better mechanical stability. Non-carboxylated versions excel in caustic resistance.

Storage & Handling

Storage Condition
  • NYCHEM® 1800X73 are aqueous dispersions of colloidal polymer particles. They are subject to freezing and to gelation. Frozen latex cannot be salvaged. Gelation may occur at temperatures below 60 °F. Gelled latex should be placed in a heated room and warmed gradually. Gentle stirring after heating helps break the gel.
  • NYCHEM® 1800X73 resin should be stored in a dry place, in the sealed original containers, at temperatures between +16°C and +32°C (+61°F and +90°F).
  • Under these storage conditions, the product has a shelf life of 6 months (from date of manufacture). The products should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
