ARALDITE® ECN 1273 is a polyepoxide resin produced by reacting epichlorohydrin with an ortho-cresol formaldehyde novolac. The molecular weight of the novolac controls the resin’s molecular weight and functionality, which ranges from 2.5 to 5.5 reactive groups per molecule. Unlike conventional bisphenol-A based epoxy resins, this polyepoxide offers multiple reactive sites, enhancing crosslinking density and performance.

ARALDITE® EPN 1180 A 85 is a multifunctional epoxy resin with more than two epoxy groups per molecule, offering high cross-link density when properly cured. EPN resins, including EPN 1179 and EPN 1138 SP, provide better chemical and high-temperature resistance compared to standard bisphenol A epoxy resins. These resins are ideal for high-performance applications that require excellent chemical and solvent resistance. They can be used alone or blended with bisphenol A and F epoxy resins for enhanced performance. EPN resins are suitable for two-component systems with room temperature cure, forced cure, or heat cure options.

ARALDITE® GT 7071 is a low molecular weight, unmodified solid epoxy resin designed for use in high-performance protective and decorative coatings. It can be cured with polyamines, amine adducts, polyamide hardeners, or acrylic resins. The resin is characterized by excellent batch-to-batch uniformity, good clarity and color, a narrow molecular weight distribution, and favorable solubility characteristics. For the convenience of formulators, ARALDITE® GT 7071 is also available in various solvent types and solvent combinations (see Data Sheet for Araldite® GZ 471 and Araldite® GZ 571 epoxy resin solutions).

ARALDITE® GY 289 is a low-viscosity epoxy phenol novolac resin recommended for solvent-free and high-solids coatings. With an average functionality greater than two, it is a multifunctional epoxy resin that provides high crosslink density when properly cured with a variety of hardeners. As a result, coatings based on ARALDITE® GY 289 exhibit excellent chemical and thermal resistance, surpassing those of conventional epoxy resins. Compared to the well-known epoxy phenol novolac resin Araldite® EPN 1179, ARALDITE® GY 289 offers much lower viscosity, making it easier to handle and enabling formulations of solvent-free performance epoxy novolac coatings. It is also compatible in all proportions with liquid bisphenol A and bisphenol F epoxy resins, expanding possibilities for formulating solventless and high-solids coatings.

ARALDITE® GZ 488 V 32 resin is a very high molecular weight epoxy resin solution. Since film forms without the use of hardener, it produces outstanding surface coatings by air or force drying. In addition, the high hydroxyl content of the resin permits reaction with urea-melamine, and phenol-formaldehyde crosslinking resins to produce excellent baking finishes. Coatings based on Araldite® GZ 488 V-32 resin exhibit excellent adhesion, flexibility. impact and abrasion resistance, and chemical and corrosion resistance.
