  • Chemical Family:Phenol & Cresol Epoxy Resins (Novolac)
  • Product End Uses:Aerospace Applications, Powder Coating, Rocket, Space Shuttle, Spacecraft, Tooling Systems
  • Processing & Application Methods:Casting, Coating, Filament Winding, Fluid Bed Coating, Lamination
  • Glass Transition Temperature (Tg):200.0 °C
  • Product Features:Chemical Resistance, Excellent Thermal Properties, Good Solvent Resistance, Improved Mechanical Resistance, Solvent Resistance, Thermal Resistance

ARALDITE® ECN 1280 is a polyepoxide resin produced by reacting epichlorohydrin with an ortho-cresol formaldehyde novolac. The novolac’s molecular weight determines the resin’s molecular weight and functionality, which ranges from 2.5 to 5.5 reactive groups per molecule. Compared to conventional bisphenol-A based epoxy resins, this polyepoxide offers multiple reactive sites, resulting in enhanced crosslinking and improved material properties.
