HuntsmanARADUR® 39
  • Product Functions:Curing Agent, Hardener
  • Chemical Family:Polyamines
  • Product End Uses:Waterborne Coating
  • Material Compatibility:Mineral Substrate
  • Product Features:Excellent Adhesion, Fast Cure, Fast Drying, High Gloss, Improved Pot Life, Improves Flow, Low Odor

ARADUR® 39 is a waterborne amine curing agent designed for use in formulating two-component ambient-cured coatings without volatile organic compounds (VOC). It is supplied as a 50% solids solution in water and contains no organic solvents. ARADUR® 39 may be diluted with water down to 30% solids (wt.), but this may cause haziness. It is not suitable for use with solid resin dispersions due to insufficient coalescence of the cast films. In combination with liquid epoxy resins (e.g., ARALDITE® GY 9513 or PY 340-2), zero-VOC, fast-drying, and curing films with good flow and adhesion can be formulated.

HuntsmanARADUR® 3985
  • Product Functions:Curing Agent, Hardener
  • Chemical Family:Polyamines
  • Product End Uses:2K (2 component) Coating, Floorings, Mortars, Primers, Waterborne Coating
  • Material Compatibility:Metal Substrate, Mineral Substrate
  • Labeling Claims:Organic Solvents-free, Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) Chemicals-free, Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)-free
  • Product Features:Corrosion Resistance, Excellent Adhesion, Fast Cure, Improved Washability, Low Odor

ARADUR® 3985 epoxy curing agent can be used to formulate self-leveling as well as highly filled flooring systems, which can be applied up to several millimeters thick. Such formulations show a visible end of pot life and exhibit very good adhesion to concrete and metallic substrates. It can also be used as a modifier for other waterborne curing agents that do not provide a visible end of pot life. When combined with liquid epoxy resins, ARADUR® 3985 can formulate fast-drying and curing films, even in cold (~10°C) and humid environments, provided adequate ventilation is available. Coatings and floorings based on ARADUR® 3985 are suitable for decorative applications (e.g., exhibition areas) due to their low color and good color stability.

ARALDITE® EPN 1180 banner
Huntsman company logo
HuntsmanARALDITE® EPN 1180
  • Chemical Family:Glycidyl Ethers
  • Product End Uses:2K (2 component) Coating, Coil Coating, Floor Coatings, Pipe Coating, Pre-pregs, Primers, Tank Linings, Waterborne Coating
  • Material Compatibility:Polyamine Polymers
  • Product Features:Chemical Resistance, Corrosion Resistance, Heat Resistance, High Crosslinking, High Performance, High Temperature Resistance, Solvent Resistance

ARALDITE® EPN 1180 epoxy phenol novolac resins contain more than two epoxy groups per molecule, classifying them as multifunctional epoxy resins. Due to the increased epoxy functionality, EPN resins provide a high cross-link density when properly cured. Systems based on ARALDITE® EPN 1180 epoxy phenol novolac resins offer better chemical and high-temperature resistance compared to those based on standard bisphenol A epoxy resins. EPN resins are recommended for high-performance applications requiring good chemical and solvent resistance. When combined with suitable curing agents (such as polyamines, novolacs, and anhydrides), they can be used as the sole resin or blended with bisphenol A and F epoxy resins to enhance the performance of the latter. EPN resins can be used in two-component, room-temperature cure, forced-cure, or heat-cure systems. Solvent-containing, high-solids, solvent-free, or waterborne coatings can be formulated. The heat-curable systems deliver ultimate performance (chemical and thermal resistance) due to more complete reactions with curing agents at higher temperatures, overcoming the stearic hindrance of multifunctional epoxy resins.
