NYCHEM® 1562 X 159 is a medium-nitrile, acrylonitrile-butadiene latex that uses a synthetic anionic surfactant for enhanced chemical and mechanical stability. This latex offers excellent formulating capabilities, machine runnability, and wetting properties with reduced pH sensitivity, making it ideal for coating and binder applications. Its smaller particle size improves web penetration and enables faster drying, which is beneficial for adhesive applications. It provides strong bonding to rubber and textile substrates in wet laminating and heat seal adhesive applications, and can be used with RFL dip adhesives. Featuring good chemical, grease, oil, tear, and abrasion resistance, along with flexibility and impact resistance, it is also suitable for binder and coating applications. Toughness and resistance can be further improved through vulcanization with a sulfur donor.

NYCHEM® 1562 X 170 is a specialty emulsion that includes nitrile, carboxylated nitrile, and styrene-butadiene blends. It provides superior oil, grease, and solvent resistance, toughness, and tear resistance. Tailored for various applications, these products can be enhanced with cross-linking agents or vulcanization to improve toughness, abrasion, and chemical resistance. Fatty acid or rosin acid-based surfactants improve water resistance, while synthetic surfactants offer better mechanical stability. Non-carboxylated versions offer excellent caustic resistance.

This versatile polymer is used in adhesives, friction materials, abrasive paper backing, saturants, and paper and textile coatings. With medium acrylonitrile content, it offers strong chemical, grease, oil, tear, and abrasion resistance, as well as flexibility and impact resistance. The heat-reactive functionality enables self-crosslinking above 150°C, enhancing performance, while vulcanization with a sulfur donor further improves toughness and chemical resistance.
