ARALDITE® GY 281 MBC

ARALDITE® GY 281 MBC is a resin technically identical to ARALDITE® GY 281 and is distinguished by its associated REDcert2 certificate, ensuring that 100% of the fossil raw materials required for the production of this product were replaced by sustainably certified biomass. In the rest of this document, ARALDITE® GY 281 refers indifferently to both resins.

  • Depending on the choice of hardener, low- to moderate-viscosity, solvent-free coatings can be formulated.
  • The technical characteristics of coatings formulated with ARALDITE® GY 281 MBC are comparable to those obtained with the well-known bisphenol-A resin ARALDITE GY 250, but have slightly lower viscosity.

  • ARALDITE® GY 281 MBC can be processed alone or in admixture with bisphenol-A or bisphenol-A/F epoxy resins.
  • In combination with polyamines and polyamine adducts, ARALDITE® GY 281 MBC is suitable for solvent-free coatings, self-levelling floor toppings and trowelling compounds onto metallic and mineral substrates.

Storage & Handling

Storage Information
  • ARALDITE® GY 281 MBC should be stored in a dry place, preferably in the sealed original container, at temperatures between 2 and 40°C.
  • The product should not be stored exposed to direct sunlight. ARALDITE® GY 281 does not crystallize under normal conditions.
  • Heating to 60°C eliminates crystallization.
  • Crystallization can be excluded by adding a bisphenol-A epoxy resin in the proportion of at least 25%.
