- Notes
- * - We recommend that the components are weighed with an accurate balance to prevent mixing inaccuracies which can affect the properties of the matrix system. The components should be mixed thoroughly to ensure homogeneity. It is important that the side and the bottom of the vessel are incorporated into the mixing process.
- ** - The values shown are for small amounts of pure resin/hardener mix. In composite structures the gel time can differ significantly from the given values depending on the fiber content and the laminate thickness.
- *** - The optimum cure cycle has to be determined case by case depending on the processing, the final Tg and the economic requirements.

Safety & Health
- Safety Information
Contamination of the eyes by resin, hardener or mix should be treated immediately by flushing with clean, running water for 10 to 15 minutes. A doctor should then be consulted. Material smeared or splashed on the skin should be dabbed off, and the contaminated area then washed and treated with a cleansing cream (see above). A doctor should be consulted in the event of severe irritation or burns. Contaminated clothing should be changed immediately. Anyone taken ill after inhaling vapors should be moved out of doors immediately. In all cases of doubt call for medical assistance.
- Safety Precautions
When handling epoxy systems or similar chemicals, adhering to proper safety protocols is vital. Protective clothing is required, and the use of gloves is essential to prevent skin contact. Arm protectors are recommended, especially when skin contact is likely, and goggles or safety glasses must always be worn to protect the eyes. For skin protection, apply a barrier cream to exposed areas before beginning work, and after washing, use a barrier or nourishing cream to maintain skin integrity. If the skin becomes contaminated, dab off the material with absorbent paper, wash thoroughly with warm water and alkali-free soap, and dry with disposable towels. Solvents must not be used for skin cleaning. In the event of a spill, soak up the material with sawdust or cotton waste and dispose of it in a plastic-lined bin. Maintain adequate ventilation: the workshop air should be renewed 3 to 5 times per hour, and workplaces should use exhaust fans to remove vapours—operatives must avoid inhaling fumes during the process.

Storage & Handling
- Storage Information
Provided that ARALDITE® LY 1560, ARADUR® 917-1 and ACCELERATOR DY 079 are stored in a dry place in their original, properly closed containers at the storage temperatures . Partly emptied containers should be closed immediately after use. Because ARADUR® 917 is sensitive to moisture, storage containers should be ventilated with dry air only.
- Storage Conditions
Provided that ARALDITE® LY 1560 / ARADUR® 917-1 / ACCELERATOR DY 079 are stored in a dry place in their original, properly closed containers at the storage temperatures mentioned in the MSDS they will have the shelf lives indicated on the labels. Partly emptied containers should be closed immediately after use. Because ARADUR® 917-1 is sensitive to moisture, storage containers should be ventilated with dry air only.
