EPOCAST® 1629 A/B

EPOCAST® 1629-A/B Epoxy Syntactic is a beige, flame-retardant, ultra-low-density system for edge reinforcing of honeycomb structures. It can be spread with a putty knife and resists slumping on vertical surfaces. EPOCAST® 1629-A/B can be easily sanded and machined once cured. It is a non-PBDE containing material and can be used as a replacement for EPOCAST® 87005 A/B-80 Epoxy Syntactic, EPOCAST® 87005 A/B-60 Epoxy Syntactic, EPOCAST® 87269 A/B Epoxy Syntactic, EPOCAST® 87005 A/B-61 Epoxy Syntactic, and EPOCAST® 87005 A/BE-60 Epoxy Syntactic.

Mix both components thoroughly for several minutes to assure complete blending. Resin/filler separation may occur. Remix before use.

Material temperatures should be above 18°C (65°F) when mixing.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions
  • EPOCAST® 1629 A/B Epoxy Syntactic should be stored in a dry place, in the original sealed container at temperatures between 2°C and 40°C (35.6°F and 104°F).
  • Tightly reseal containers after each use. Under these storage conditions, and when supplied under Huntsman standard certification, the product has a shelf-life of 6 months from date of shipment (expiration date may differ based on customer specification).
  • The product should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
