NYCHEM® 1562 X 159

NYCHEM® 1562 X 159 is a medium-nitrile, acrylonitrile-butadiene latex that uses a synthetic anionic surfactant for enhanced chemical and mechanical stability. This latex offers excellent formulating capabilities, machine runnability, and wetting properties with reduced pH sensitivity, making it ideal for coating and binder applications. Its smaller particle size improves web penetration and enables faster drying, which is beneficial for adhesive applications. It provides strong bonding to rubber and textile substrates in wet laminating and heat seal adhesive applications, and can be used with RFL dip adhesives. Featuring good chemical, grease, oil, tear, and abrasion resistance, along with flexibility and impact resistance, it is also suitable for binder and coating applications. Toughness and resistance can be further improved through vulcanization with a sulfur donor.

  • For wet laminating or heat seal adhesive, it provides good bonding strength to rubber, and textile substrates and it can be used with RFL dip adhesive applications.
  • It is a softer version of NYCHEM® 1562 latex. The medium acrylonitrile content provides good chemical, grease, and oil resistance combined with good tear and abrasion resistance. Also, it exhibits good flexibility and impact resistance useful in binder and coating applications.
  • Additional toughness, abrasion, and chemical resistance can be further enhanced though vulcanization using a sulfur donor.

Storage Condition
  • NYCHEM® latexes are aqueous dispersions of colloidal polymer particles. They are subject to freezing and to gelation. Frozen latex cannot be salvaged. Gelation may occur at temperatures below 60°F. Gelled latex should be placed in a heated room and warmed gradually. Gentle stirring after heating helps break the gel. NYCHEM® 1562X159 should be stored in a dry place, in its sealed original container, at temperatures between 16°C - 32°C (60°F - 90°F).
Shelf Life Information
  • Under these storage conditions the shelf life is 6 months from date of shipment. The product should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
