AVALON® TPU grades enable casual, sport, leisure, and professional footwear manufacturers to develop tough yet comfortable shoes in a variety of designs and colors. Also used as molded parts for industrial, transportation and consumer goods applications.

Huntsman supplies a range of fully water-blown polyurethane systems based on both polyester and polyether technology. Polyester systems are characterized by superior strength and abrasion resistance whereas those based on polyether have an inherent resistance to hydrolysis and microbial attack – making them ideal for many midsole applications as well as unit soles and sockliners.

I-BOND® resins from Huntsman are powerful, formaldehyde-free and fast-curing resins for the composite wood panel industry. They are used for bonding: Oriented Strand Board (OSB), Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), Particleboard (PB), and Wood Fiber Insulation Board (WFI). I-BOND® resins contain no added formaldehyde (NAF) and are considered "exempt" under the requirements of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) standards. Using I-BOND® resins classifies products as both CARB I and CARB II compliant. I-BOND® resins are also compliant with the European EPF-S standard, as well as the Japanese F**** (F 4 star) formaldehyde emission standard.

Huntsman is a specialist supplier to the adhesives industry. We provide chemistries to help create epoxy, acrylate, polyurethane solvent-based, polyurethane water-based and TPUs for solvent-based and hot-melt solutions. Our portfolio features a wide range of hardeners, also known as crosslinkers or curing agents. These are offered under the trade name IRODUR® and are used across a variety of markets including the footwear sector. Under the trade name IRODUR®, Huntsman offers a range of polyisocyanates that are used as hardeners for two-component polyurethane and polychloroprene adhesives. Adding IRODUR® to adhesive formulations results in: Optimum cohesion and adhesion Rapid crosslinking and fast curing Outstanding heat stability Maximum resistance to solvents, fats, and plasticizers.

IROGRAN® is a specialized, polyester-based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) grade material used in extrusion and injection molding applications, including cable and wire, hoses and tubes, film and sheet, seals and other technical parts.

IROSTIC® polyurethane-based raw material is used to manufacture TPU adhesives. Available as a one- or two-component system, the range serves four core markets; solvent-based footwear adhesives; industrial specialty adhesives; non-reactive and reactive hot melt adhesives. IROSTIC® bonding solvent-based systems can be applied using manual brushes, rollers, and spatulas or mechanical spray and air guns. IROSTIC® non-reactive hot melt grades can also be applied as a powder or a film. Features include

Aliphatic-based KRYSTALGRAN® TPU film and sheet grades are a reliable and robust surface protection solution for applications where excellent durability, abrasion and scratch resistance, and strict outdoor UV protection is required. Suitable for use in a wide range of sectors, our KRYSTALGRAN® TPUs are commonly used in OEM and after-market automotive and aerospace paint protection projects.

MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) is one of the basic components used to make polyurethane foam. Polyurethane foam is made by reacting an isocyanate (MDI) with a polyol. Huntsman sells many differentiated grades of MDI in the Americas under the RUBINATE® name, and in Europe and Asia under the SUPRASEC® name.

A range of soft, durable injection-moldable materials suitable for unit soles or for combining with polyurethane midsoles to produce hardwearing dual-density outsoles. SMARTLITE® grades are also ideal for molding logos, inserts, and decorative trims.
