ARALDITE® CW 5625 / ARADUR® HW 5625-1

ARALDITE® CW 5625 / ARADUR® HW 5625-1 is a prefilled, cycloaliphatic, hot-curing, two-component epoxy casting resin system recommended for medium voltage electrical applications in outdoor, indoor, and high humidity environments. It exhibits hydrophobic properties, including hydrophobicity transfer and recovery, as well as excellent arc-tracking resistance, erosion resistance to UV radiation, excellent mechanical and dielectric properties, and good thermal shock resistance.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions
  • ARALDITE® CW 5625 Resin should be stored in a dry place, in its sealed original container, at temperatures between 5 °C - 25 °C (41 °F - 77 °F). Under these storage conditions the shelf life is 6 months (from date of manufacture). The product should not be exposed to temperatures more than 80°C (176 °F) for more than 2 hours. Incorrect handling or storage conditions will result in an increase in viscosity, an increase in filler separation, and reduced cured-state properties.
  • ARADUR® HW 5625-1 Hardener should be stored in a dry place, in its sealed original container, at temperatures between 5 °C - 25 °C (41 °F - 77 °F). Under these storage conditions the shelf life is 3 months (from date of manufacture). ARADUR® HW 5625-1 Hardener contains a curing accelerator. Storage at elevated temperatures >80 °C (176 °F) for long periods (>5 days) will result in an undesirable increase in viscosity and will negatively affect the reactivity of the mixed system. This hardener is highly sensitive to moisture. Partially used containers should be blanketed with dry nitrogen gas and closed immediately after use. The use a desiccant venting device is highly recommended unless the material is going to be used rapidly after opening.
  • These products should not be exposed to direct sunlight. As with most pre-filled systems, the fillers present in these components have a tendency to separate during storage. This filler separation will not negatively affect the final product properties and quality provided that both components are thoroughly homogenized. The filled components should be stirred carefully using a low shear mixer prior to processing. Do not use high speed or high shear mixers or other equipment likely to cause air entrapment.
