Product Properties

ARALDITE® DY-F is a long-chain aliphatic diglycidyl ether with a distinctive low viscosity. The vapour pressure is higher and the physiological effectiveness greater than that of unmodified epoxy resins. The use of ARALDITE® DY-F in surface technologies has the following effects, according to the amount included:

  • Moderate reduction of viscosity
  • Clear reduction of reactivity
  • Improved adhesion to pickled steel
  • Clearly increased flexibility and resistance to loose gravel
  • A clear reduction in surface hardness and general resistance to chemicals
  • A relative loss of resistance to hot water.

Applications
Product Applications
  • Can be mixed with unmodified bisphenol-A or bisphenol-A/F epoxy resins to formulate low- viscosity epoxy resins for solvent-free coatings, flooring screeds and mastics. In these systems ARALDITE® DY-F may be used both as a reactive diluent and simultaneously as a flexibilizer, in which case there is a clear reduction in reactivity. But Araldite DY-F may also be used to increase resistance to loose gravel.
