Pretreatment
The strength and durability of a bonded joint is dependant on proper treatment of the surfaces to be bonded. Joint surfaces (including anchoring holes) should be dried and cleaned in order to remove all traces of loose particles, oil, grease and dirt.Mixed Properties

ARALDITE® KIT 680 A/B is a cartridge-pack epoxy system, with the accessories (manual gun and static mixers) recommended by Huntsman Advanced Materials Company Limited. The advanced cartridge package can ensure epoxy and hardener are thoroughly mixed, and it also simplifies working process on site and avoids mistakes from manual weighting and mixing. Holes into which the reinforcing bars are to be grouted should first be filled with Araldite® KIT 680, followed by the insertion of the steel bar. When the design tensile strength of anchor steel bar is 210 N/mm2 and concrete strength is not less than C20, the relevant shortest anchoring length and diameter of holes are shown below:
Diameter of anchor steel bar d(mm) 10 12 16 20 25 32 40 Diameter of hole D(mm) 13 16 20 24 30 38 48 The shortest anchoring length (mm) 12d 12d 12d 12d 12d 12d 12d It may be difficult to dispense adhesive in low temperature. It is recommended either to use pneumatic gun to easy dispensing, or to warm up the original cartridge to not higher than 50 deg°C, should manuel gun is used.
Safety & Health
- Handling Precautions
Caution
Our products are generally quite harmless to handle provided that certain precautions normally taken when handling chemicals are observed. The uncured materials must not, for instance, be allowed to come into contact with foodstuffs or food utensils, and measures should be taken to prevent the uncured materials from coming in contact with the skin, since people with particularly sensitive skin may be affected. The wearing of impervious rubber or plastic gloves will normally be necessary; likewise the use of eye protection. The skin should be thoroughly cleansed at the end of each working period by washing with soap and warm water. The use of solvents is to be avoided. Disposable paper – not cloth towels – should be used to dry the skin. Adequate ventilation of the working area is recommended. These precautions are described in greater detail in the Material Safety Data Sheets for the individual products and should be refereed to for fuller information.
