ARA® XTREME PY 2100 banner
Huntsman company logo
HuntsmanARA® XTREME PY 2100
  • Chemical Family:Epoxy & Epoxy Derivatives
  • Product End Uses:Heavy Duty Coatings, Lamination, Marine Coatings, Pipe Coating, Resins, Tank Coating, Tank Linings
  • Product Features:Chemical Resistance, Corrosion Resistance, Excellent Chemical Resistance, Excellent Mechanical Strength, Excellent Storage Stability, Excellent Thermal Properties, Fast Cure, High Chemical Purity, High Crosslinking, High Reactivity, High Temperature Resistance, Increased Mechanical Strength, Low Viscosity

ARA® XTREME PY 2100 US is a very low-viscosity, high-functionality amine-based, high-purity resin with relatively good storage stability. It cures very rapidly to produce products with exceptionally high heat deflection temperatures. ARA® XTREME PY 2100 US is particularly effective in a wide variety of formulating applications, including adhesives, laminating systems, and more. It can be used as a viscosity modifier and, in combination with slow-reactivity resins, can boost their cure rate. However, caution must be exercised in the selection of hardeners and cure conditions due to its rapid curing characteristics. Even moderate amounts, when cured with aliphatic amines, can develop sufficient exotherm to cause charring and smoke evolution. This can also occur if aromatic amine-hardened systems are gelled at excessively high temperatures or if catalysts, such as boron trifluoride monoethylamine, are used alone or in conjunction with aromatic hardeners.
